Boomtown Reno - The Real Deal :
Roadside gamble, somewhat like Whisky Pete's or Silverton in Vegas. Decent sized joint, plus you can get fill your shit up with gas while chasing quad aces on the Video poker machine.
Boomtown Reno History
Owned by Pinnacle Entertainment, Reno Boomtown is part of the same family that operates Boomtown casinos in N'Awlins and Shreveport Louisiana as well as Casino Magic in Argentina and Biloxi, Mississipi and L'Auberge du Lac in Shreveport Lousiana. Boomtown Reno opened in 1964 and has been a landmark of classic Reno gaming style for over 40 years. Gotta respect a joint that is older than most joints in Vegas yo and still gets good marks.
Location of Boomtown Reno:
Seven minutes west of downtown just off Interstate 80. Boomtown is the first, or last stop before the trek over the mountains depending on which way you're going. Good place to catch some gas and gamble before busting out of town or over to Sacramento.
Cool Stuff About Boomtown Reno:
They've got a seperate website for their Truckstop. You just never know when an big iron jockey will be surfing for some slots action on their Blackberry while plowing down I-80. This is the definition of ghettofabulous!

We were in Reno and wanted to check out Cabela's and thought we might eat in the coffee shop at Boomtown after shopping. Instead we found Cassidy's ... a great steakhouse! Quiet with a great waiter! Six ounce steak, salad or soup, vegetable side dishes - all for $20. Found a great wine to go with it and dessert. Dinner/wine/dessert/tip all for about $100 for two people. We'll do this again!!!
